A2RL and DCL drone-racing activation at the Abu Dhabi F1 Fan Zone in 2024.

Project overview

During the 2024 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, A2RL and DCL brought drone racing to the Fan Zone at Yas Marina Circuit. I led DCL-side marketing and onsite content production around an activation featuring FPV exhibition races, AI demonstrations and simulator experiences.

The challenge

The activation needed to introduce a new racing format to an audience already surrounded by motorsport entertainment. The content had to communicate the experience clearly and capture enough context for people watching online to understand what was happening.

My approach

I shaped the event story and directed the content requirements for camera coverage, interviews, commentary and b-roll. I connected onsite production with paid campaign and social-content activity, working with the event and production teams to capture the moments needed for the wider audience story.
